Reviews and Ratings
Staying at this hotel was such a treat! The rooms were quite comfortable and relaxing, complete with incredible views over the Sassi, which is truly one of the most wonderful places I have ever seen. However, the internal set of steps from the entry and bathroom down to the bedroom could be a bit tricky if you're not sure-footed. The service was wonderful, giving a cozy, family-run feel with genuine concern for your welfare. The location was excellent, right in the heart of the Sassi, offering a spectacular living-in-Sassi experience. The dining experience was really good, resonating with the territory and offering a wide selection of local products.
My stay at the hotel was truly delightful. The rooms were very comfortable, clean, and spacious, although the internal set of steps from the entry to the bedroom could be a bit challenging. The service was exceptional, with a warm and professional attitude from all the staff members. The location is truly extraordinary, offering both modern convenience and historic charm. The dining experience was excellent, with a great selection of local products. Overall, a fantastic choice for a memorable stay.
I felt like the hotel captured the essence of Matera's charm with its quaint 'sassi' living conditions, while still offering modern comforts like a bathroom, fridge, and air-con. The room, although a bit small for a longer stay, provided a stunning view of the town and cathedral. However, it didn't quite match the grandeur of the photos.
Staying at this hotel was a unique experience as it was inside a cave in the heart of the ancient village, offering a mix of genuine 'sassi' living conditions with modern amenities like a bathroom, fridge, and air conditioning. The view of the spectacular town and cathedral was stunning, but some aspects of the accommodation were disappointing.
